When we think about abundance, we may think of money. That’s a common way to measure abundance. If you have a million dollars in your bank account, then surely you have abundance. You can buy whatever your heart desires.
But what if you get sick? Some illnesses can’t be cured with medical treatments. It won’t matter how wealthy you are, you’re still sick. Good health is something that money simply cannot buy. And it’s a very important component of abundance. People who have chronic illnesses like Muscular Dystrophy or arthritis tend to focus on that illness as the center of their lives. No amount of money makes them alter their focus. Thus, good health is a must if we are to enter into abundance.
Of course, many of those suffering with chronic illnesses have learned to avoid allowing their disease to be the center of their lives. They know how to live in harmony with their world and how to experience the feelings of abundance regardless of their medical condition.
This is also true with the poor of this world. They often make their poverty the center of all they are. It’s what they focus on the most. We can become single-minded in some areas like this. But there are poor people the world over who have risen above their poverty and exist in a mindset of joy and gratefulness. These souls have achieved abundance. Yes, they are still financially lacking, but this doesn’t matter to them. They’ve chosen to be grateful for the miracle of Life.
